Catha Worthman
Catha Worthman joined the firm as an associate attorney in 2008. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), where she was admitted to the Order of the Coif and was a Speaker Series Editor for the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law (BJELL). Through a joint degree program, she earned a Master’s Degree in International and Area Studies, with a focus on Mexican labor and migration issues.
From 2003 to 2004, Ms. Worthman clerked for the Honorable William A. Fletcher of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Worthman was a campaign director with the Healthcare Division of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Her professional experience includes over ten years as an organizer and researcher for labor unions representing workers in the healthcare, building services, automotive, and computer industries. Her undergraduate degree, with highest honors, is from the University of California, Berkeley.
Ms. Worthman is the author, with Julia Campins, of “Class Certification in 401(k) Cases After LaRue,” published in the ABA Labor and Employment Law Section, Employee Benefits Committee Newsletter, Summer 2009. She is also a volunteer with the East Bay Workers’ Rights Clinic
